The Ideal CMS
If I wrote my own content management system, it would definitely...
- Not require learning a whole new programming language
- Have dynamic building
- Use proper typographic glyphs and replace HTML entities out-of-the-box (a la SmartyPants/Textile)
- The latter would need to be an option; not everyone wants to use Textile/Markup shortcuts. But automatically replacing HTML entities definitely = win.
- Allows for intelligent crossposting (tricksy!)
- Allows for LiveJournal crossposting (omg. -_- )
- Weblogs
- Forums
- Wiki pages (replacing "normal" pages)
- Edit history and reverting abilities for that one page
- Set a page password for semi-open editing
- How do you keep track of wiki pages that were deleted? :|
